Making Gaming Better
bit-tech.net – Apr 24, 2008
Few other hobbies or sports lead to as much swearing abuse and general yobbish behaviour as online gaming. Give someone a mouse and keyboard and an anonymous Internet account and watch the sparks fly. We’ve all seen people in online games act like a jerk and to be honest we have probably all lost it once or twice ourselves but it doesn’t have to be that way. Rule of thumb; don’t do anything in an online game you wouldn’t do if it was real-life game. Do you hurl abuse when you lose at tennis? I hope not. Don’t respond to abuse with more abuse. Two: Confront bad behaviour onlineIf someone joins an online game with a racist or homophobic name or hurls such abuse tell the server admin… Give someone a mouse and keyboard and an anonymous Internet account and watch the sparks fly. Lost Cities on Xbox Live: crack for card game fans
Ars Technica – Apr 24, 2008
You can only go up in value and 10 is the highest so the card is now useless for the board. It's a game of tactics reading your opponent and luck. The rules are easy to follow after a few minutes and online games only take five to ten minutes or so to play. I'm addicted and in fact I woke up this morning a few minutes early to play before coming into work. Anticipating your opponent's moves holding onto cards he or she needs and then laying down a tight row of one color for the high score gets into your skin. However the luck factor means that sometimes you'll play a mediocre hand out of desperation only to draw the cards you've been waiting for a few minutes later. Expect many curse words.
