The New York based company which was set up by Rockstar luminaries Jamie King and Gary Foreman is currently working on two new games one of which is expected to launch by the end of the year. 4mm said that it will avoid making massively multiplayer titles and instead focus on casual games aimed at “under-served” audiences such as females. Executive VP Paul Coyne told Variety: “There are lots of people who don’t want to play men-in-tights games. There’s a huge audience already online who want to play games relevant to them.

The company earlier won a license from US-based online game titan Blizzard Entertainment to operate the latter’s World of Warcraft on the mainland. Having purchased equipment necessary for the operation of World of Warcraft NetEase. com is equipping brand new hardware facilities for the online game said William Ding chief executive officer for the company declining to say how much it spent on the new equipment. “This move indicates that NetEase. com will not buy the existing server from The9 Limited (NASDAQ: NCTY) the former operator of World of Warcraft” said a market observer.
